Pro-homosexuality UM General Agency Decries Supreme Court Decision In Favor Boy Scout Moral CodeFrom: ZTAmaniac ZTAmaniac@email.msn.com Upholding morality is not discrimination! The Boy Scouts have done the right thing. As a former Scout myself, the Scout Oath and Law are clear. The General Board of Church and Society needs to go back to school and relearn Christian moral philosophy. The Boy Scouts will not be forced by political correctness and liberal Christianity to condone things in its practice that go against its fundamental principles. The Supreme Court has ruled wisely though it was a close vote. The United Methodist Church needs to uphold the Bible and condemn sin and political correctness like the entire body of Christ should be doing whilst loving the sinner at the same time. Gary Loy, B.A., O.S.L. Concerned Conservative Evangelical United Methodist Former Boy Scout Seminarian, Regent University Divinity School, Virginia Beach, VA From: George Price gprice@cleanweb.net I am so angry. The church has made her position clear and yet, how in the world can an official agency of the church make such a statement. I am not one who wants to kick anyone out of the church, but Mr. White Wolf Fassett must go. He definitely does not have the best interest of our church at heart. He only wishes to serve his own selfish interests. There is no room for that kind of attitude in the Church of Jesus Christ. George Price Littlefield, TX
From: Joe McManus Joe@STCS-Net.com Oh, well. Once again Thom White Wolf Fassett shows that he and his organization are totally out of contact with United Methodism. May the Spirit of the Living God fall upon all who are being deceived and bring them back into the house of the Lord. And, I praise the Lord that, even if by only a small majority, the Supreme Court of this country has upheld the right of the Boy Scouts to enforce their standards within their organization. Now if only the UMC would enforce its' standards! -- Joe McManus OSMA Austin and Nixon, Texas
From: mwhitehu mwhitehu@tsixroads.com Homosexual pratices are inconsistant with biblical teachings. This is a Fact of the Bible, which is the rule and guide of faith in the United Methodist Church. By its actions and comments the General Agency is in violation of our Discipline and in conflict with our General Conference. The head of any agency who finds he cannot abide by the Constitution of the United States, the Discipline of the United Methodist Church, or the Doctrine taught by the Holy Scriptures, is not fit to serve in or lead the agency of which he is head and ought to resign his position. If he will not resign, he ought to be removed from office. If the Council of Bishops do not carry out sworn sacred duty to uphold the discipline in this matter and the matters of the violations of clergy and bishops in this vain they will be responsible to promoting further discension within the church. The people of our churches will not support activities or persons that are contrary to our doctrine politically, or financially. There is much talk about who is to blame for division in the church. The blame is with those who promote actions that are contrary to the clear teaching of Scripture and to the order of the Discipline. Those of us who have remained true to both, will not, cannot give up or stand by and let these spokesperson of satan take posession of the church which we have established through the generations. Get Out in Jesus Name. From: GuessR4@aol.com GuessR4@aol.com I continue to be amazed by the self contradiction in the GLBT statements. The claim is that God created GLBT persons with their specific sexual orientation. At the same time, they are supporting lifesytles that say God must have made a mistake or got it confused. By their own sexual stands Bisexual and Transgendered persons are saying that God did not get it right with me. One feels lead in two directions and the other says I was born with the wrong body. At the heart of both of these sexual expressions is a denial that God created them the way their should be. It is just another smoke-screen used by the GLBT movement to cover up the basic denial of sin. |
