Weather permitting, Reconciling United Methodists and Friends of N.C. will meet Monday, 2/20/06, at 7:00pm at Calvary UMC in Durham, NC. ALSO weather permitting, our guests are Gavin, and Lee Warren. Gavin is the gay man whose pastor refused to admit him to membership in the So. Hills, VA, UMC, setting in motion the Judicial Council rulings which eventually reinstated the removed pastor and set the UMC on its collective ear. Lee was the associate minister who reported the minister’s behavior. Lee is now working in an extension ministry. We have invited them to come and share their stories with us! Please remember that stories shared at RUM are confidential: what comes there stays there, unless permission is obtained to share outside the group. NOW, that weather thing.
